Magic items

LOOT WITH A TWIST

Magic items

Equipment dropped by monsters can roll extra attributes. Every magic item has a rarity, and the rarer it is, the more bonuses it carries and the stronger they roll. Equip it to benefit, inspect it to see exactly what it rolled, and trade it directly to another player.

  • Drop chance: 10% per item
  • Up to 3 bonuses per item
  • Tradeable directly

Four rarities

Uncommon

75% of magic drops

1 bonus, the most common find.

Rare

20% of magic drops

2 bonuses, rolling stronger values.

Epic

4.5% of magic drops

2 bonuses, but each one rolls stronger than the tier below.

Legendary

0.5% of magic drops

3 bonuses, the strongest rolls and extremely rare.

What can they roll?

Which bonuses an item can carry depends on the item itself: a sword rolls differently from boots. The table shows the range each rarity can roll for every bonus, and the most you can gain from all your equipped items combined.

How to use them

  1. Hunt. Eligible weapons, armor and gear dropped by monsters can roll as magic items. A floating label over the corpse shows the best rarity that dropped.
  2. Inspect. Look at the item to see its rarity and every attribute it rolled.
  3. Equip. The bonuses apply while the item is worn.
  4. Check your bonuses. Type !magicitems in game to see what your equipped items give you and whether the system is on.
  5. Trade. Use direct player trade so both players can inspect the exact item. Magic items are left out of generic market listings.

Questions

Do the bonuses stack across items?

Yes, up to the caps in the table: for example up to +10 on a skill, +5 magic level, +300 health and mana, and 20% attack speed in total.

How often does a drop turn magic?

Each eligible equipment drop has a chance to roll as a magic item. The current chance is 10% per eligible item, not per monster. Once an item is magic, its rarity is decided by the odds shown above.

Why can I not sell them on the market?

Magic items carry unique rolls, so they are kept out of generic market listings. Use direct player trade instead: both players can inspect the exact item and its attributes before accepting.

Can any item be magic?

Only eligible equipment can roll bonuses, and the bonuses an item can receive depend on its type. Inspect any drop to see whether it rolled.
