Boss events
Boss events are the biggest group content on Zarex. They are run live by the staff, so every encounter is an event: a boss appears, the call goes out, and players gather to take it down together. Each boss is built around a signature mechanic that rewards teamwork, positioning and quick reactions.
- Staff-run live events
- Personal reward chest
- Floor warnings before every hit
- Levels from the 40s to 400+
How a boss event works
- 1The boss appears
The staff spawn the boss and announce it in-game. Watch the broadcasts and the event schedule, and join our Discord so you do not miss a call.
- 2Gather a group that fits
Every boss lists a recommended level range and group size. Bring a balanced party with healing and support, not only damage, and agree on who handles what before the first hit.
- 3Read the mechanic
Each boss repeats a signature mechanic. Danger zones are marked on the floor before they strike, so the key is to move when you see the marker. The guide below shows a sketch of every mechanic.
- 4Survive together
Spread out when told to, break links when they appear, and never camp a single spot. Mistakes cost health, and some bosses heal from them.
- 5Claim your reward
When the boss falls, everyone who took part earns a personal reward chest, plus the experience and the loot the boss carries.
Rewards
- Personal reward chest for every player who fights, so there is no racing for a corpse.
- Boss loot including platinum coins and supplies, with better drops from tougher bosses.
- Big experience that grows with the boss, from the low thousands up to tens of thousands.
Before you join
- Check your level against the recommendation for the boss.
- Stock potions, runes and food for a long fight.
- Use party chat or Discord voice to call out mechanics.
- Read the boss’s mechanic below so nothing surprises you.

Murkfang the Plague King
- Health
- 12,000
- Experience
- 1,800
Plague Seeds
Two players seed fixed plague pools. Leave the marked crosses and stay out until all three poison pulses finish.
Bromm Ironfist
- Health
- 25,000
- Experience
- 3,500
Fault Line
Two lanes erupt three times while a third lane remains unmarked. Find the safe lane before the first shockwave.
Silkmaw the Broodmother
- Health
- 45,000
- Experience
- 6,000
Collapsing Web
Web rings collapse around a marked location: outer ring, inner ring, then center. Move through the gaps before the final collapse.
Count Veyr
- Health
- 80,000
- Experience
- 9,000
Blood Link
Two named players must separate by at least four tiles. An unbroken link drains health and heals the Count by the actual HP lost.
Neritha Tidecaller
- Health
- 125,000
- Experience
- 13,000
Turning Tide
Water sweeps through four quadrants in sequence, including the border axes. Rotate into unmarked ground as each quadrant floods.
Gorath Stonehorn
- Health
- 180,000
- Experience
- 18,000
Stone Quake
The outer 9-by-9 area erupts but the central 3-by-3 square is safe. Move into the unmarked center, then spread again.
Ashkar the Cinder Tyrant
- Health
- 260,000
- Experience
- 24,000
Cinder Brand
A named player leaves four delayed fire explosions behind them. Keep moving and lead the trail away from allies.
Vhalzor the Rift Seer
- Health
- 360,000
- Experience
- 32,000
Riftboard
An alternating checkerboard first deals energy damage, then flips to drain mana. Step onto newly safe squares between pulses.
Malgorath the Soulreaper
- Health
- 500,000
- Experience
- 42,000
Doom Pendulum
Death damage sweeps one half of the arena, then the other. The center corridor collapses last, so camping the center is not safe.
Zarethra the Threefold Doom
- Health
- 750,000
- Experience
- 55,000
Threefold Edict
A fixed sequence marks frost diagonals, a venom cross, then a fire ring. Change safe positions for each of the three heads.
Levels and group sizes are starting recommendations; a stronger group can go in under them, a weaker one should bring more players. The sketches are simplified: always trust the markers on the floor in the game.
Questions
How do I know when a boss event starts?
The staff announce each encounter in-game. Keep an eye on the broadcasts, the event schedule and the news, or join the community on Discord.
Do I have to be exactly the recommended level?
No. The level and group size are starting recommendations. Going in far below them makes the mechanics much harder to survive, so bring a bigger or more experienced group.
How do the rewards work?
Everyone who fights the boss earns their own reward chest when it dies, on top of the experience and boss loot. Stay in the fight and take part in the mechanics so you are counted.
What if my group keeps failing the mechanic?
Stop and talk it through. Most mechanics are about moving at the right moment: look for the floor markers, spread out when asked, and have one person call the callouts. The boss guide above shows what each mechanic looks like.
Where can I find the other events?
The event schedule lists the daily Zombie Event and Snowball Battle as well as the staff-run events.
